It’s wonderfully easy to unwind in this beautiful, peaceful spot, a twist and turn up from the mountain village of Aguas de Busot. At 350m above sea level the air is good and relatively cool (the water is health-giving too) and you’ve wide south-easterly views of the coastal sierras and the sea and masses of space to relax in the pine-shaded, terraced grounds and around the inviting pool. You can stride out to your heart’s content on the exceptional mountain trails of the Sierra Cabezo d’Or behind the Finca. It’s also great cycling country so take your bike, or hire one, head for the Canalobre Caves, the Roman remains at Luccentum and wind-surfing beaches at Campello and San Juan… Friendly, foodie, South African owners Peter and Ernest love to advise on where to go and what to eat – their breakfasts and dinners (with good Alicante wines) are generous, informal and often outdoors; the dining room is lovely and cosy when it’s chilly. They’ve hung original artwork everywhere, decorated eclectically, smartly, and gone for high quality beds, linen and bathrooms. Go on – spoil yourself with the spacious suite!
