If Scandi boho interiors and a communal vibe are your thing then this will be right up your street. Cristina and her family rescued Can Alemany from developers who wanted to turn it into a golf course, now this traditional Catalan house plus a newly added wing has ten apartments within it; those in the old building have beams and exposed stonewalls. Inside they’re light-filled and airy with country views; they have sleek, clean-lined furniture and antique pieces brightened by colourful textiles. Inviting bedrooms, compact kitchens, comfy living spaces and gleaming bathrooms packed with vegan smellies are enhanced by trendy lighting. In the summer you’ll be invited to a weekly communal paella lunch, a fantastically convivial way to meet the other guests, kids especially will have a great time mucking about together. You can still choose to do your own thing as each apartment has a balcony or terrace. Breakfast can be brought to you or enjoyed in the café (once the wine cellar) or in the garden and it’s great fun to meander up the mountain for lunch in La Tossa’s only restaurant.
