The Experience

There’s an easy-going Mediterranean-meets Scandinavian feel to this comfortable hillside villa with great views. The attractive living room – below the dining area – is the indoor hub: oak-floored with a marble fire surround, big views through big windows, white-painted walls and beamed ceilings, and three sofas. Outdoors the infinity pool’s a joy, the lower terrace has table tennis, barbecue and sun beds; the smaller, upper terrace has more seating and doors onto it from two of the double rooms. And the grounds, with orange grove and handsome jacaranda, tumble freely around you. Bedrooms are all spacious with plain white walls, cream curtains, white linen, firm mattresses and plump pillows. 90’s style bathrooms are fine; the large kitchen and utility room have everything you should need. It’s only twenty-minutes’ walk to Soller where a tram runs to livelier Port Soller with its beach, port and restaurants, a good art gallery and museum. And an old train line runs to Palma through fine scenery. A fuss-free group getaway.

Reviews

Lovely airy spacious villa with wonderful views over the valley to Soller. You can walk to the beach at Porto Soller in 20 minutes through olive groves and lemon orchards. Or it’s a five minute drive. The house is pretty and comfortable and a real home from home: books, pictures and cushions everywhere! The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a proper utility room with laundry facilities. Eating breakfast on the terrace and looking at the view was magical. Quiet and peaceful with just the occasional sounds of the little train which meanders from Palma to Soller through the mountains.

Absolutely fabulous villa, with large pool and sumptuous views. Well equipped with everything you'd need for a family stay. Comfortable beds etc. Lots of terraces to sit on and a wonderful outdoor area for dining etc. Close to Soller Town and beaches at Port Soller, with great restaurants etc. Would highly recommend.

This house is basically paradise on earth. The house itself is spacious, breezy, clean and clear colors and tones. The common areas are gorgeous, and each room comfortable and indulgent. There is much room for privacy, even with a larger group. The gardens are heavenly, and the pool area lends itself totally to both sport and laziness. The sounds of cicadas and songbirds give a fantastic background. And if you want to go to the beach or a "civilized", populated place, you are only a few minutes' drive from Soller. But, why would you? You have everything you could possibly need right here!

We've taken many villas in the Med but this is our standout favourite to which we return time and again. It's perfect for the family; private, with spectacular views across orange and lemon groves to the majestic mountains beyond. The beach is a 20-minute walk away, but my children prefer to use the gorgeous infinity pool, table tennis and barbie. There's a well-equipped kitchen, huge covered terrace/dining area that overlooks the valley, comfortable sitting room with tv/wifi and 5 king-sized bedrooms, 3 en-suite. Its charm, beauty and convenient location never disappoint. Frankly unbeatable!

La Jacaranda is a stunning villa near the beautiful town of Soller and a 5 min drive to the Port of Soller. There were six of us staying for one week. The villa has amazing amenities and the pool was a delight in the afternoons in which to cool down. We played tennis in the evenings at the Soller Tennis Club which is in a beautiful setting and ate at some excellent restaurants. Clare the owner was so helpful during the booking and everything met our expectations and more. We would certainly highly recommend La Jacaranda and hopefully we will return soon.

Lynne, Gateshead

This villa met absolutely all our expectations and more (family of 6 between the ages of 19 and 54). A quiet setting with exceptional views both from the villa and the pool, a tastefully decorated comfortable villa with a luxurious but homely feel, with all the amenities we could wish for, inviting us to relax, completely. Easy to find, easy to park the rental car, great location for visiting the beautiful surroundings. Very good management and communications. We are hoping to come back!

Local points of interest from Clare Pearson

  • The house has stunning views toward the magnificent Tramuntana mountains which form the backbone of the North West coast of Mallorca and are now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Palma and its international airport are an easy 35 minute drive away.
  • Walkers can enjoy the many excellent mountain trails, particularly the dry stone wall Route 221 with stunning views of the coastline, olive groves and terraces.
  • Golfers have more than 20 excellent courses to choose from, the nearest being a 20 minute drive away. Riding schools, tennis courts, sea sports of all description, boat charters, fishing and scuba diving are all available locally.
  • Port Sóller, for centuries a natural harbour for pirates and sailors, is a 10-minute drive or a short walk through pine groves.
  • A quaint tram, a copy of those in San Francisco, links the port with the vibrant market town of Sóller also just 10 minutes drive from the house. The colourful town square has some famous modernist architecture inspired by Gaudí.
  • The picturesque villages of Deya and Fornalutz can be reached on foot or by car and Valldemossa is a short drive away.
