The
Experience

This new quinta is in Sintra Natural Park and the views are to die for. On the ground floor is a big bright breakfast room, and ‘Marigold’ – perfect for those who don’t like stairs. Above are two further guest rooms, and in the garden, two cottages: ‘Camellia’ and ‘Rose’. All rooms are large, peaceful, cleverly designed, and come with fabulous extras: terraces, verandas, sunsets and those views – from ‘Lavender’ you can see the distant ocean. Each includes fresh-cut flowers, locally-grown fruits, organic snacks, towels for the pool, a bottle of wine and teas; walking maps, walking sticks and guidebooks too – walk to the village of Almoçageme, hike to breathtaking cliffs overlooking thesea. Relish the scents, pick the herbs, set off on the bikes (there are two, both vintage), bask by the pool. Start the day with an organic feast, gluten-free if you if you fancy – everything here is tweaked to suit you. You can picnic in the grounds, quench your thirst from the honesty bar, cook in a fully-equipped guest kitchen awash with light. Your generous hosts can ferry you to a restaurant (as long as it’s within 5km!).
