Live la dolce vita in these splendid apartments, one on top of the other in a renovated farmhouse in the grounds of a 16th-century villa. Each one is bright and airy, with 85 square metres to stretch out in and fine views; they reach across the villa’s parkland or to the Lessinia mountains. Décor is pure charm – stone tile floors, chunky beamed ceilings, rich rugs and curtains, pretty flower prints, a child’s wardrobe in the shape of a lighthouse… Modern furnishings – iron bedsteads in the twin rooms, wooden beds in the doubles – mingle with rustic antiques, and there’s no TV: tune out of the 21st century! Shaded by the tiled roof, the terrace is a great spot to sip prosecco or burrow into a book. Rustle up breakfast in your well-equipped kitchens or join the B&B guests around the oval table in the villa for a lavish spread featuring local goodies; you can also use the garden’s big fenced pool. The owners are sisters; charming Chiarastella lives in the grounds with her family, and can organise everything, from a box of Lego for the kids to a private flight over Verona. Wonderful.
