The
Experience

Why stay in Venice, when half an hour away (by boat or train) lies this estate, deeply rural and a sandal stroll to a private beach space at Eraclea Mare? The family farm (mostly beef) is going strong but it’s daughter Francesca who runs this show. And what a splendid show it is: an airy reception bright with art by cousin Lorenzo; a huge garden with barbecue and big swimming pool; an inexpensive restaurant whose young chef cooks with passion (ask about the half-board option); and a little shop selling home-grown produce you can cook yourself. The apartments are fabulously well-equipped: simple stylish bedrooms dressed in earthy tones, luxurious bathrooms, dreamy kitchens. You can tell the family care about the environment and love seasonal, organically grown food – some of the produce comes from the fields outside. Local staff give a great performance, smile spontaneously and do their utmost to make you feel part of the family, even when they’re packed out in summer. A poster in reception sums it all up: “Good company, good wine, good welcome: good people.”

Reviews

Our fourth visit to Adriabella and our big family was cherished and looked after by Francesca and Sileno as well as ever. This time we occupied Villa Casello in the grounds of the hotel and were bowled over by the lovely furnishings, well equipped kitchen (which we didn't use, because the meals prepared in the hotel are so good) and the lovely garden, which runs down to the beach. The hotel pool is warm, as is the sea. Pleased to say the house air conditioning works a treat. Can't recommend this highly enough!

What a delightful place! Warm swimming pool, warm sea, lovely facilities, friendly and caring staff, especially Francesca, the owner. Wonderful al fresco lunches. Very family friendly too.

A lovely, family-run place. We knew we were onto a good thing when everyone we spoke to was on at least their 3rd visit! We stayed in one of the Spighe apartments as self catering is often the better option for us with two small children. The main guest house is a 2 minute walk away so if you dont feel like cooking you can enjoy one of the delicious (and very reasonably priced) home cooked meals. The beach was really close, pool was lovely and the location suited us well. I'd agree with one of the comments that Venice is more like an hour away, but that wasn't a problem. Definitely recommend!
