Wind up the steep single-track road through olive groves to this lovely old house with huge valley views in every direction. There’s much space indoors and out for everybody to gather but also hiding places for when you seek solitude.
The kitchen has a big table for convivial meals, a wood-burning oven for baking bread and pizza but also an induction hob and plenty of swish equipment. A chef will come in and cook evening meals for you if you don’t want to bother (or ask Olga to arrange a cookery course or demonstration) and there’s a covered outdoor table for balmy evenings.
Pile in to the fabulous pool, adventure to the marshlands to spot over 200 species of birds and explore hilltop medieval villages, hire bikes for a day out in car free Lucca just a half-hour drive. Return for a feast of pizza and glorious terrace sunsets.
