The
Experience

Stay in one of three freshly converted stone houses perched thrillingly on top of a hill. Reached by a rough wiggling track (be warned!), surrounded by ancient gnarled olive groves, each is filled with gorgeous bits and pieces from the owners’ travels. Margherita, the highest, feels relaxed and laid back: a large covered terrace, wooden ceilings, terracotta floors, colourful objets old and new, sofas by the open fire. There’s a glass-topped dining table and a mod-conned kitchen, and comfy bedrooms with hand-painted details. Rosita, above a main road, is the largest house, stylish yet cosy, with lots of bare stone and tiles, an iron candelabra in a snazzy dining room, a children’s bedroom under the rafters, plus sauna and spa. Bianca, dinky and cute, has a peek-over wrought-iron mezzanine to the living room below, lined with lovely pottery and characterful tomes. Each property has its own swimming pool and barbecue terraces for the views: a glorious panorama of snow-capped mountains and sea. Far enough apart for privacy they are close enough for friends to enjoy. And there are acres of ancient olive estate to roam wild in.

Reviews

Lovely cosy Casa, fits 2 persons. Furnished with a personal touch. Kitchen with stove, fridge and watercooker. Enough kitchen utensils to cook a fair meal. Deckchairs and a hammock to linger in the sun and gaze at the beautiful surroundings, one side the mountains and valleys of the Parco delle Madonie, the other side down to the sea and Campofelice di Roccella. Here you are to be picked up by Margaret, the owner. Very relaxing spot. Shops nearby. Beware: the bathroom is really tiny!
