The Experience

Tucked away in a patchwork of olive groves, reached via a maze of stone-walled lanes, are five pretty trulli and one square-shaped lamia, renovated with eco sensitivity and an urbane sense of style. You can rent the lamia for four, the trulli for six, or the Dependence with two more bedrooms.. or take the whole lot for up to 14 people. The flexibility is fabulous, the Zen team are warm and loquacious and take care of it all. Breakfast is a sunny feast from the summer kitchen of crostata, fresh cakes and just-squeezed juices and you have use of the outdoor kitchen. Dazzling white, with thick walls to keep out the heat, the 200-year-old trulli have cosy snug bedrooms and diddy new kitchens, natural earth colours and country antiques, bathrooms with big shower heads and baskets of thick towels. But outside is where you’ll mostly be, by the pool, surrounded by lavender and jasmine, bamboo and cacti, lanterns, candles and hammocks in the woods – it couldn’t be lovelier. Wine villages and summer food festivals abound; the beaches and flowering macchia of the Adriatic coast are an easy drive.

Reviews

A wonderful spot in the midst of the magical Trulli land. The architecture, the landscape, the pool, the hospitality; it was all first rate. the rooms were very comfortable with lots of thought given to the guests comfort. Enzo was so kind and helpful and left us an amazing crostata that we thought we could never finish but we did! Highly recommended!

After five months travelling in Europe with our family we all agree that Trulli La Macina was our favourite place. Not only was it a perfect base from which to explore Puglia, it was a comfortable and delightful home away from home.Enzo is a charming and delightful host, his property is immaculate and the accommodation is well-equipped with many thoughtful details. From the moment we met the engaging Enzo to the day we (sadly) left, we had a memorable and happy stay. We would love to return.

This truly is an idyll in the gorgeous charms of this part of Puglia Enzo is the PERFECT host....nothing is too much trouble & his breakfasts are legendary. Everything here is spotlessly clean & so artistic.....the pool is amazing & difficult to leave!! Staying here is like staying with a friend and we shall undoubtedly return to savour Trulli la Macina, its gorgeous surroundings & the sheer aura of it all We stayed in the Lamia & it was gorgeous Mulitgrazie Enzo!! This is a fabulous place - stylishly decorated with a wonderful large pool. Enzo the host was so hospitable and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The house was immaculately clean and we were greeted with local wine and freshly baked (delicious) cake. It's a short drive to Cisternino which is a great little town with fantastic restaurants and little shops. All in all a fantastic holiday - perhaps our best. Thank you Enzo - we really hope to come back soon!

We loved our stay at La Macina; our lovely host Enzo who we now consider our friend; the beautiful town of Cisternino; the nicest swimming pool of its type we've ever encountered. We were sad to leave but we will be back.

DAVID

Amazing place. Beautifully restores trulli in a country setting with an amazing pool. Enzo is a great host who recommends the best restaurants, supermarkets and beaches. Highly recommended and hoping to go back.

Enzo's place is trulli scrumptious! we have just returned from a wonderful trip. The location is brilliant for sightseeing and beach but it's both the beauty of the surroundings, the trulli interiors, the gardens and amazing designer swimming pool and the warm and generous Enzo that make this trulli special. We are sure to return to this little piece of heaven

Jules

A wonderful place: you will receive a warm welcome from Enzo, and the decoration and garden are lovely. Everything you need for a perfect holiday and a great location to visit Puglia. Our whole family loved our stay, we're planning on coming back next year!
