The
Experience

When Sandy and Laurence found this honey-coloured farmhouse with glorious views they could hardly believe it had been empty for 30 years. Now it embraces four sun-lit guest bedrooms, their beds decked in white linen, their pretty, rustic furniture chosen with care. Each has its own fresh clean bathroom, sparkling with travertine tiles. Two first-floor sitting rooms are yours to relax in so make yourselves at home. Wander at will in the garden where the scent of roses, wisteria and lavender hangs on the breeze, and the vegetable garden, fruit trees and olive grove give bumper harvests. Your hosts greet you generously whatever time you arrive; they love to please. Chef Sandy ensures breakfasts on the terrace (or by the sparkling pool) are a joyous array of local or homemade breads, cakes, fruit, yoghurt, omelettes and cereals… with a bit of notice, she’ll magic up a full English for you, or lunch, or a three-course dinner. Laurence is a wrought-ironsmith with his workshop in the garden – drop by. All this just five minutes from Treia, one of Italy’s most beautiful towns.

Reviews

I spent just 2 nights with Sandy and Laurence and wished I had stayed longer, they could not have been more hospitable! The wine was delicious, breakfast to die for and the company excellent, I will definitely be back! Having stayed in a variety of properties on my recent travels, I should note that La Casa degli Amori trumps the lot, the room was beautifully clean and very comfortable and the stunning views in every direction made it a wonderful haven to stay.

What a stunning home! We stayed in late March and were thrilled with the breathtaking panoramic views from our extremely comfortable and well appointed room. Sandy and Lawrence made us so welcome and spoiled us with splendid breakfasts and a delicious dinner on our first evening. Very close by is Treia - a beautiful and ancient town - and we were provided with plenty of information for visiting other lovely places not too far away. A very tranquil setting and definitely a special place to stay.

WHAT A WONDERFUL PLACE. WE WERE 2 FAMILIES WITH 4 CHILDREN AND IT WAS PERFECT FOR US,WE HAD THE WHOLE TOP FLOOR TO OURSELVES COMPLETE WITH A WELL STOCKED DRINKS FRIDGE! SANDY AND LAURENCE WERE FANTASTIC AND WELCOMING HOSTS. WE ATE DINNER ON OUR FIRST NIGHT AND SANDY PROVIDED A SUPERB MEAL FOLLOWED BY EXCELLENT AND HUGE BREAKFASTS MADE WITH ALL THEIR OWN PRODUCE. THE GARDENS AND POOL WERE PERFECT FOR THE KIDS TO EXPLORE AND TOGETHER WITH LAURENCES' SUPERB LOCALLY SOURCED 'LOOSE' WINE ,WE CAN ALL SAY WE HAD A FANTASTIC TIME AT CAS DEGLI AMORI AND CANNOT RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY ENOUGH. THANK YOU

As soon as we arrived, the warm ambience of Casa deglio Amori enveloped us in its luxurious tranquillity and with Sandy and Laurence's warm welcome, it felt like home. Upon waking in our "room with two views" bathed in soft morning sunlight, breakfast was pure heaven. Served with fresh Italian coffee, Sandy's delicious homemade bread and marmalade with offers of fruit or cake for the day's excursion, enticed us to try dinner ... perfectly cooked and presented local dishes by Sandy, accompanied by Laurence's personal choice in complementary local wines, made it a most special evening.

La Casa degli Amori is an almost perfect Italian getaway. It's a very good B&B set amidst glorious fields of sunflowers in the Le Marche countryside, five minutes drive from the beautiful medieval hilltop town of Treia. Ex-pat Brits, Laurence and Sandy Love are friendly, attentive hosts and the house is perfectly adapted for visitors. Four beautiful bedrooms, all on the first floor with its own, separate entrance are divided by two sitting rooms for the guests' use. All the rooms have stunning views across the Le Marche countryside. We went as two couples so the arrangement was perfect for us

Blissful. Stunning location, stunning weather, stunning food, great company (if required), lovely comfortable rooms, fab shower. Sandy and Laurence have created a sanctuary from hectic lives, we will be back next year, and the year after, and the year after....

From total peace and tranquility amidst spectacular scenery, to fabulous company and warm hospitality from both Sandy and Laurence this is truly a special place to stay. Our two weeks at La Casa Degli Amori have flown by filled with memorable visits to the awe-inspiring Frassassi caves, treks into the stunningly beautiful Parco Nazionale Dei Monti Sibillini and visits to the numerous hillside towns all only a short drive away. We will miss La Casa Degli Amori and Le Marche and we would certainly consider coming back again next year. We can't recommend it highly enough!

Friends who have visited "The House of Love" (so called after the owners Laurence & Sandy Love) asked us to visit with them. Often other people's enthusiasm for a place is not fully shared, but yes in this case. The Loves greeted us like old friends and made us extremely welcome in their fully restored farmhouse. We asked ahead if they could provide a lunch and the platter of meats, cheeses and home made breads were excellent. The house is extremely well appointed with much of Laurence's wrought iron-work in evidence. The setting is magnificent, bed and bathroom sumptuous. Highly recommended

In June we enjoyed a week's stay with Sandy and Laurence who were just fabulous hosts. The house is situated in a wonderful setting, surrounded by farmland historically known as the Garden of Treia, with glorious views across to the snow-capped Sibilini mountains and just a short drive from the hillside town of Treia. The pool is a lovely addition to the property and although there are some great agriturismos nearby Sandy is a fantastic cook if you just want to eat in. A wonderful, home-from-home experience somehow leaving you wishing you could return straightaway.

Local points of interest from Sandy Love

  • Treia is one of the 16 most beautiful towns in Marche. Gorgeous piazza leading to quiet streets which end in flower filled passageways. Don't miss seeing the theatre, recently restored Georgia Academy (museum) or celebrating La Disfida del Bracciale.
  • In the hills opposite La Casa degli Amori is the recently restored settlement of Pitino. Dating back to the Bronze age ,the 13th century buildings occupy an amazing view point for miles around.
  • We are surrounded by a choice of eating places. On a hot summer's night eat outside on the terrace with magically romantic views, or indulge in locally produced food and wine in a wealth of different locations.
  • Home of the San Severino Blues Festival , San Severino has a wide range of restaurants, bars, shops and historical sites and is one of our favourite places to visit.
  • The Sferisterio (open air opera arena) in the university town of Macerata ,hosts a wide variety of summer events ,most notably the opera season. Also a great place to 'people watch' , shop, explore and grab a bargain at the Wednesday market.
