The
Experience

As you enter the hotel’s front door, look to the left, et voilà! – there are the ruins of the Mercati di Traiano, the oldest shopping mall in the world.

Climb to the hotel’s top terrace and feast at small tables on fresh breads, cooked eggs, homemade cakes, and views over the rooftops of Rome. Marrying the service of a hotel with the independence of a home, the apartments of this ‘hotel diffuso’ are dispersed along the very same street. Join the locals for a gelato on the cosy Piazza Madonna, pop into Taverna dei Fori for a perfect carbonara. This is the arty, trendy neighbourhood of Monti, in the atmospheric heart of Rome. As you wander, you may catch glimpses between alleys of the Forum.

Return to plush furnishings and well-equipped kitchens in small intimate spaces; one apartment even has a terrace.

Reviews

A favourite neighbourhood for its setting within an authentic historic neighbourhood squeezed between the nearby highlights of Ancient Rome. Mingle with the locals over a second cappuccino in the morning or a glass of vermentino at aperitivo time and return to the comfort of your own plush apartment with all the services of a hotel. This new accommodation concept offers a unique experience and the very attentive staff makes sure of it

Location

The neighbourhood

Given its heart-of-Rome position, the cobbled neighbourhood of Monti feels unexpectedly tucked away. Its narrow streets, lined with stylish bars, trattoria and artisan stalls, give it a charming, local, villagey feel. Don’t miss the stunning Mercati Traiano museum with its Roman statues and unique views over the Forum. The more touristy spots are an easy stroll: the Trevi Fountain 12 minutes, and the Spanish Steps, 20.

Local points of interest from Matteo Ginnetti

  • At the entrance, a passageway leads you to a Cryptoporticus; an exquisite stone gallery with engravings that can be traced back to 2,000 years ago. The five star accommodations are carefully decorated in a modern style and are luxuriously furnished.
  • Located just a few steps from some of the oldest and most precious ruins in Rome, including the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. It boasts charming views of the Campidoglio, Palatin Hill, the Roman Forum and Venice Square.

Introducing

Matteo Ginnetti

The successful Di Rienzo family had humble beginnings. Their father, a porter at a lowly pensione, ended up the owner of three hotels. His sons have taken the business on, slowly adding apartments and suites. They have a truly excellent team, but still love to be hands-on.
