The Experience

Stylish, Tuscan-influenced décor and well-appointed rooms with superb views. The Auberge has an elegant and exclusive feel yet is not in the least intimidating, thanks to the cheerful (and efficient) staff. Bedrooms are uncluttered, stylish and comfortable with mellow colours – nearly all have balconies and the views ranging from good to superb.

Breakfast on the terrace with Mont Blanc as your sidekick, the perfect partner to a morning coffee. A day’s exertion can be rewarded with afternoon tea in the lounge – petit fours and a huge array of teas. When hunger strikes again the chef will delight with traditional dishes of venison, risotto and pasta.

Relax in the wellness centre with a sauna and hydromassage; there are plenty of treatments. Ski right to the lift or take a helicopter tour from the doorstep. Come in any season: to fish for trout or play a round of golf, ski (right to the ski lift) or don crampons for a winter ascent.

Reviews

The warm welcome and cosy, but spacious feeling of this hotel make it a truly relaxing spot for a summer or winter break. There's tons to do in the surrounding mountains - not least scaling Mt Blanc on the Skyway - followed by recharging in the wellness spa. Couple this with delicious local food and you'll feel revitalised!

Patrick, Sawday's inspector

The truly amazing thing about this hotel is the mountain. Mont Blanc is right there, looming overhead, stunningly beautiful. You can see it from every part of the hotel, even the jacuzzi in the garden! The hotel is very good too. Very comfortable with great service from the welcoming staff, and a good dinner in the restaurant. The reception staff were excellent at recommending things to do - we took the cable car up the mountains to stare, gobsmacked, at the peaks. It's a truly memorable experience.

This is an excellent hotel. The attention to detail, authenticity and respect for traditions are so refreshing in a world where most hotels are now 'boutiqued' to within an inch of their life. You won't find the now ubiquitous bright pink chairs and black damask here. You will find the most tasteful interiors, impeccable service and excellent housekeeping. If there is a more charming, more soulful hotel, I would love to stay in it. Food is superb. It's a pity the guests don't make more of an effort for dinner - the hotel deserves more than t-shirts and jeans. Truly wonderful in every way.
