The
Experience

Our inspector had an Alice Through The Looking Glass moment as she stepped off the street, through the unremarkable gate and into the wonderful gardens – a series of secret ‘rooms’ – that surround this elegant, 18th-century, cloistered manor. A labyrinth of caves, typical of the region, lies below and guests sometimes dine there with Jean-Pierre and Béatrice – your cultured, interesting hosts. Pray for the camembert sprinkled with pastis, cooked in the fire’s embers – it’s divine. Inside are an attractive dining room and three pretty bedrooms; the ground-floor one – all Louis XV – is particularly enchanting.

Reviews

A really wonderful place. We had a beautiful big room in this lovely house, and the owner Jean-Pierre literally waited on us hand and foot. He is a FABULOUS host (and a very good cook). Nothing is too much trouble. We adored having his two dogs Blanche and Babouche as company during our meals in the garden (but if you dont like dogs he will keep them away from you.) A real treat to be this spoilt. Am definitely going back next year. And the one after, and the one after....

Fiona

Jean-Pierre and Beatrice were charming hosts who made us feel at home in their beautiful manoir. The grounds and gardens were really interesting. I took many photographs trying to capture the atmosphere. There were tumbling roses and pieces of old stonework, caves, mysterious staircases leading underground and private corners to sit and read. The breakfasts were delightful with Jean-Pierre's whimsical eggs (if you stay there you will find out about these!) lovely homemade preserves and scrumptious bread and pastries. We loved it.
