Monsieur’s parents bought this old logis Vendéen when he was six. Years later, researching the history of the house, he found his family had owned it in 1670! Framed in the hall, Madame’s family tree goes back to the 14th century. Both are warm, welcoming and not at all grand and the old house is full of personal touches: Madame painted the breakfast china and embroidered the beautiful tablecloths. Vast bedrooms have peaceful views and quantities of fresh and dried flowers. The suite is ideal for a family, the huge grounds hold two pretty ponds (unfenced) and a barbecue: you may picnic here. Wonderful all round.

We had a fabulous night's stay in the Logis de Richebonne. It is a chateau of your dreams that on arrival hits you with its charm and old world majesty. We were warmly welcomed by Madame and Monsieur, who offered us cool drinks and a history of the place. Our residence was a comfortable apartment in a wing of the house where we slept wonderfully. At breakfast we were joined by our hosts and we felt like part of the family. Having said goodbye and packed the car, Madame came out to give us cakes for the journey. We would love to return.

Just what you want from Sawday's - off the beaten track, gently fading grandeur with the best hosts. I've never had courgette jam before, I'm not sure I ever will, but it was delicious. Wonderful friendly hosts, couldn't have done more even for a very short stay.

We stayed overnight on our way to Normandy and found this a majestic old Classic French Manor. Well of the main road, it is quiet and has lovely grounds. The hosts are gracious and share many of their personaal heirlooms in the parlor, including gorgeous hand painted porcelains. The breakfast was excellent, many home made preserves. We wished we were staying another day.

This is a delightful, peaceful place to stay. the hosts and house charming. we enjoyed Coypu spotting by the pond!
