Fanny and her big dog Dune are welcoming and this old farmhouse very peaceful. It’s a good stopover to or from Calais just an hour from the Eurotunnel. If you stay longer there are WW1 battlefields and plenty of museums to explore within an hour’s drive.
Wander the big garden with lawns and mature trees under which you can link up with others for summer pétanque or play billiards and table tennis inside. Unwind in two guest sitting rooms; bedrooms are in the long low attic or the snug suite with its own patio.
If it’s a full house there can easily be a dozen around the huge table for breakfast – croissants, yogurt, boiled eggs and home-made jams. It’s worth staying in for Fanny’s table d’hôtes or walk into the village for simple meals. Restaurants are a ten-minute drive.
