Tranquil meadows, pastoral bliss: a metaphor for your calm, smiling fishmonger hosts. Caroline grew up with B&B: her parents were pioneers, she loves it. The fine old farmhouse, with pale façade and garden dotted by shady fruit trees, is an immaculate B&B retreat, while the outbuildings house two busy gîtes. The adventurous bedrooms are a surprise after the classic French dining room (long table, high upholstered chairs). Urban-chic in deep red and mustard, one is swathed in rich oriental toile de Jouy, the other in intensely patterned wallpaper and billowing taffeta. Caroline is graceful and sociable.
