Lut, a music teacher from Belgium (who speaks English) is one of those lovely gentle people who takes you happily into her home. It’s a gorgeous old house at the end of a pretty tree-lined drive with perfect, peaceful bedrooms (one in taupes, off-whites, toile de Jouy and a tiny room off with a bed for a child, the other modern red, white, rattan and wood). Breakfast is a treat: homemade yogurt and jams, bread and pastries from the local boulangerie; dinner too is available sometimes so do ask. You have sole use of the living room; the garden bursts with peonies, lupins, roses and cherries. An adorable, very special place.

Such a warm welcome on a dark damp November night. Lut is charming generous host, the house is beautiful and interesting, food delicious. We particularly appreciated having the use of our own lounge, complete with music, books and woodburner.

Jennifer, Ilkley

There is a friendly welcome from the family which consists of Lut, her husband and 2 boys. Lut, who is Belgian, speaks perfect English. The farmhouse is set in quiet countryside and is a 20 minute drive from Calais and about 15 from St Omer. There are various places of interest nearby such as Eperlecques and other WWII museums. A lovely organic breakfast is served and table d'hote with wine is available by arrangement. If not possible, because Lut is a busy music teacher, there are restaurants in nearby Ardres. We have been coming here for many years and would highly recommend a stay..

Marvellous reception to two very late unannounced travellers. Lut even provided a delicious quiche and salad at short notice. Extremely comfortable and relaxing place complete with our own sitting room. Having been travelling in Germany and Czech Republic it was our best experience of the holiday.
