3 rooms

Rooms sleep 4 – 6

The Delcambre family home, originally one of the Abbaye de Vaucelles farms, rebuilt after WWI, is a friendly, unpretentious place to stay. Bedrooms are traditionally furnished, with tall windows and polished floorboards: Alize, in pretty toile de Jouy wallpaper, overlooks the garden; the Mozart two-roomed suite is on the road side (not busy at night). Shower rooms are simple too. Breakfast – fresh bread, homemade brioche – is at one long table under ornate plasterwork in the dining room and Carole loves to share the history of her home and region. It’s a pleasant walk to the Abbey, and there’s a restaurant over the way.

This is a great place to stay made especially enjoyable because of the friendly and helpful host, Carole. The house is full of character with comfortable and attractive rooms and breakfast is served in the impressive dining room. If you are interested in exploring the area Carole is very knowledgeable about local history and will give you tips about where to go and what to see.

Judith, Newcastle upon tyne

A great welcome from Carole, who spared no effort to provide us with information about things to do, where to eat, and the history of the farm and the locality. And, on top, a charming room and a great breakfast in the morning.
