With Paris and Versailles a short hop away, these charming, modern rooms suit explorers and business types. Owner Alexandra is kind and thoughtful and cooks for you by arrangement. There’s a bedroom in the large 18th century house and two more in the cottage across the pretty garden, one designed for wheelchair users. All are spotless and comfortable, with their own bathrooms and terraces. Choose a continental breakfast of delicious breads and pastries or a full English outside or in the shared dining room. You’re a short stroll from shops and restaurants, and a twice-weekly table d’hôte showcases Alexandra’s splendid cooking.
