The first owner was a passionate bee-keeper so he perhaps picked a place with a bit of nature as a centrepiece. When you step off the smart shopping street you can certainly believe that Passy was just a little country village a hundred years ago. Breathe deeply in this calm atmosphere, a restful mix of old-fashioned and contemporary styles where nothing is overdone. Lounge in the glassed-in veranda where you can see a darling gardener’s cottage across the tiny cobbled yard. There is a comfortable salon and an inviting breakfast room off the panelled hall which give onto the street through arching windows. Rooms are decorated in firm but unaggressive colours with floral quilts and curtains. The family rooms have large windows, some of which provide an excellent view of the Eiffel Tower. Beams and timbers frame the upper floors; furniture is cane and wood; storage space behind mirrored folding doors is good. On the courtyard side, you look down onto the hotel’s green patio and the next-door neighbour’s very well-kept garden. Lovely staff, too.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. Perfectly situated 5 minute walk to the nearest metro. The rooms are tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. There is a good selection of food for breakfast and the staff are v friendly - what more do you need? It’s possible to walk to the Bois de Boulogne and the Louis Vuitton Centre (40 mins) as well as a Short walk to the Museum of Modern Art (15 mins). The Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower are nearby. There isn’t a great choice for local restaurants, but we had enjoyable bistro meal at the Franklin, which was fine for the 1st night.
