Hôtel Notre Dame

Collobrières, Var

A happy, voguish hideaway near Provençal beaches: kids welcome! Indulge: bio wine before dinner, lazy breakfasts, eco-friendly pool...

16 rooms

Rooms sleep 2 – 4

On the edge of cobbled Collobrières, with wonderful views of the Massif des Maures, is an 18th-century staging post, a delicious modern hotel. Its inspired creators, Olivier and his wife (chef) Nili, speak several languages, embrace all nationalities and love what they do. Each elegant, simple room is named after a precious stone – sapphire, jade, coral; pick the colour of your choice on booking. Imagine cool floor tiles, glowing paintings, thick cream curtains, repro Louis XIV tables, bright mosaic’d showers and beautiful stone ceilings washed in white. The Pearl Suite has three windows and is full of light, and some rooms have divans that double up as child beds (families are welcomed with open arms). Outside: a secret garden with an eco-friendly pool, fenced and safe for children, and pretty tables at which guests linger over dinner under the trees and listen to the flowing river. As for the food, there are four different kinds of breakfast – from Scandinavian to continental – served until late. Dinner too is delicious; the wines are from the bio vineyards of Correns. Beyond: the palms and sands of Le Lavandou.

A very relaxing stay at Hotel Notre Dame. We had dinner on the terrace overlooking a little stream and surrounded by trees... it was lovely and quiet - heaven! The three courses were delicious and the recommended wine too. The owner and his family were very friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. The little pool was perfect for a quick dip before breakfast! Breakfast was a generous self-service buffet, with a good selection of food and tasty croissants. We felt super chilled. If we are in the area another time, we will book again!

Combine the charm of the owners, with the warmth of the living areas, and it feels more like you are a visitor in their home. There is a calmness to the "hotel" that enhances your sense of welcome. The owners, Nili and Olivier, are some of the kindest and helpful people one could encounter during your travels...ready with a helping hand of any kind, so as to ensure an enjoyable visit to this part of Provence. We are return visitors, and will go out of our way to visit Collobrieres and Hotel Notre Dame whenever we are near the Var.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Olivier Faivre

  • The Hotel Notre Dame *** was built in 1767, then during the French Revolution it becomes finally in 1866, the Grand Hotel of the village. On May 7th, 2008, Nili & Olivier Faivre bought the hotel, Inspired by the places they set a complete renovation.
  • One day, and after a lot of great moments with our guests since years, in 2015, the MICHELIN GUIDE call to us to inform we are officially recommended in their book. In 2018 we are ☺
  • During a stay nearby the Hotel, you should do some hiking on the hills in the GR90 and discover the XII Monastery : The Chartreuse de la Verne.
  • During a stay and at 30 minutes from the Hotel, you should go at the best Cove in the seaside, like The "Estagnol Cove". Or like The "Cove Notre Dame" in Porquerolles.
  • Try also at 35 minutes from the Hotel, the "Fort de Bregançon cove", be quiet and try to ear the Cicadas ☺
