Bravo, Nathalie! – in calm, friendly control of this gorgeous, well-restored, 19th-century bastide. One whole wing is for guests with simple, light, vineyard-view bedrooms, pastel-painted and Provençal-furnished with a mix of old and new (including WiFi); a big bourgeois sitting room (little used: it’s too lovely outside); a spa on the roof terrace; an excellent estate shop; and a great spring-fed tank for swims. Jean-François runs the vineyard, the tastings and the wine talk at dinner with sweet-natured ease. You’re on a working farm (aspiring viticulturists will love it) but in the tranquil Provence Verte.
Château Nestuby Rosé
Pale pink colour, very amyl nose with blackcurrant flavour and touches of sweet vanilla. A good length and well-balanced wine with a touch of quince.
Rosé La Gourmandise
A light pink colour; very delicate nose like a boiled sweet with intense red fruits mixed with notes of orange flowers and sugared brioche. This smooth rosé is perfect for aperitifs or to accompany foie gras or chocolate cake. Delicious with raspberry tart.
