We contacted Lis and Graham on the chance that they had accommodation after a bad experience elsewhere. The house is lovely, full of books and collectables. Our room was on the top floor and had a little terrace and a well appointed shower room with toilet. Although situated in the small town of La Roque d'Anthéron, it is easy to find and beautifully quiet. Breakfast had everything one would want and more. Our hosts really turned our holiday around, giving tips on great places to visit and eat. Both my wife and I would like to thank Lis and Graham for our very enjoyable four days.

Alan, London

Liz and Graham were wonderful hosts. They went out of their way to help us with local information and suggestions on where to go to make the most of out time with them. The rooms were beautifully decorated and the courtyard and pool were private and relaxing. Thank you for looking after our family, Liz and Graham.

Amy, Tauranga

This is a delightful and authentic place to stay with super hosts who guide you to the very best of everything you want to experience. We loved the old house and our peaceful top floor suite with the sweetest little balcony where we read, catching the last of the days sun with swallows darting around us. A super village with lovely bars, cafes and restaurants and easy to get to many wonderful nearby sights. Time by the pool is very special too so altogether a highly recommended place in Provence.

Gill, Bath

Beautiful house, welcoming hosts and a delightful village. We were made to feel at home and had a great time relaxing by the pool. Breakfast was fabulous and Lis was more than helpful, suggesting places to visit and places to eat. A memorable stay.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Lis & Graham Steeden

  • Our old house is from 1718 and we hope that you will enjoy staying with us. Both bedrooms are comfortable, to make our guests stay enjoyable and relaxing. We give our guests, towels, pool towels, shower gel, shampoo, there's a hairdryer in the shower room.
  • Our hall is full of books and an old family piano, all there for our guests to enjoy, as is our garden with pool (9m x 4m). We can recommend more restaurants a 10-15 min drive away. Whilst we have a lovely Golden Retriever, we do not accept pets.
  • The park at Château de Florans is each year host to the famous music festival. 2018 it will be in its 38th year (4min walk). The village art festival is at the same time, and we are likely to have art exhibited in our little forecourt during the festival.
  • The beautiful Silvacane Abbey - one of the famous '3 Sisters in Provence' is on the edge of the village and well worth a visit. During the year and during the music festival, the abbey is host to many music concerts as well as art exhibitions.
  • There are many lovely villages only a short drive away ie Lourmarin, Cucuron, Bonnieux, Gordes, St Remy-de-Provence and lots more, with many wonderful markets. Aix-en-Provence is a must and the Saturday market is big and colourful! Bus 3min away to Aix.
  • Look on our website under 'Things to do' there is lots of info done in minutes/hours/kilometres, so it will give our guests idea how far away the places are they might want to visit. We require a 50% deposit when booking the room(s). Min stay is 2 nights.
