In through the gates of Hubert’s exquisitely tended park and well-tree’d gardens; you’d never guess the centre of Aix en Provence was a seven-minute drive. Polyglot Caroline is a people person whose hospitality goes beyond her warm welcome. A passion for antiques is evident throughout her house, as is a talent with fabrics and colours; bedrooms combine comfort and cool elegance, fine linens, thick towels, special touches. Admire the rose and herb gardens on the way to boules or pool, then set off to discover the music and markets of Aix. A jewel of a bastide, a home from home and worth every sou.

We absolutely loved our stay at Le Clos des Freres Gris. Caroline, Hubert and their delightful daughter went out of their way to look after us. They thought of everything to make our stay exceptionally comfortable not just in their home but helping us with booking restaurants and planning trips around Provence. The house is charming, the gardens and the pool delightful and the breakfast perfectly delicious eaten in dappled shade on the terrace. The peace and quiet there was the perfect antidote to stress. Aix is only a 10 minute drive away with shops, restaurants and museums. Perfect.

Minnie, Bath

We spent three nights at this beautiful b&b in the countryside close to Aix en Provence. It exceeded our expectations, which were already high. Caroline and Hubert are the perfect hosts - they're there to help and recommend, they provide lots of lovely little touches such as wine and nibbles before you go out to dinner, they engage in conversation without bothering you. The house is fantastic and the rooms were huge, comfortable and pretty. Caroline's breakfasts are plentiful and delicious. There are no negative comments to be made! We wished we could have stayed longer!

Teresa, Wokingham

Delightful, interesting hosts welcomed us to the perfect Provencal retreat, with beautiful pool and grounds, delicious breakfasts, evening wine and nibbles. The house is heavenly, and we did truly adore this place.
