Bed & Breakfast

A sleepy village, a big shuttered farmhouse, large light rooms, generous hosts and a lush pool - family B&B in a delightful setting

3 rooms

Rooms sleep 3 – 4

Close to a village in the heart of cognac country, beside a sleepy road, is a big old farmhouse with simple limewashed walls and a French country décor. Warm enthusiastic Virginie has an interiors boutique in town, and Philippe is a cabinet-maker. Guests have their own entrance and breakfast/living room, and use of the summer kitchen too – make yourselves at home! Bedrooms, both with lovely garden views, are big and fresh and catch the morning or evening sun. There’s a lush pool surrounded by velvet greenery, and a covered terrace for simple summer breakfasts. Great value.

What a delight! Madame could not have been more welcoming and prepared us a delicious supper, starting with elegant amuse-bouches to accompany a glass of Pineau. The room (Le Chai) was generously proportioned and utterly French, with ancient wide boards and a very comfortable bed. This is a real find, worth diving off the motorway and taking to country roads.

A wonderful place to stay. We were upgraded to stay in the gite near to the main house. Friendly hosts who provided an excellent breakfast in the main house with fresh, delicious, local produce and a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival. They also recommended a lovely restaurant in the local town of Surgeres with some of the best food I have ever eaten. Extremely good value for money and highly recommended.

A beautifully presented house and very accommodating hosts! We stayed in 'Le Chai" which is the largest o the rooms with our toddler for 2 nights. We especially appreciated the separate living room and use of the garden which made it feel we had lots of space and were able to relax after putting our little boy to bed. The decor was beautiful and they were extremely accommodating to our little boy. The breakfasts are great - a very high quality and good value stay - would thoroughly recommend. Excellent location which was the perfect base for day visits to La Rochelle and the coast. Will return
