A fine old house with wellbeing at its warm heart. Amanda’s passionate about yoga, Ayurveda and living well – you can sign up for a course, or just unwind as you please. The Grahams chose this idyllic rural setting, among Cognac vines, to realise her dream retreat; her massages alone are worth the detour… A yoga podium takes centre stage in the establishing garden. Indoors they’ve retained the handsome bones of the building and furnishings reflect their world travels and taste for contemporary art, design and comfort. You’ve a choice of generous, traditional and healthy meals – nutri-bullets, seasonal fruit and vegetarian dishes a speciality.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Amanda Graham

  • Amanda is a hatha yoga teacher and psychotherapist. We have weekly group yoga classes for all levels and Amanda also offers private sessions.
  • Our spa room in the Old Bakery is run by the lovely Alice. WIth many years experience she offers various massage therapies and reflexology all wrapped up in her very infectious warmth. She will even set the couch up under a shady tree if you would like!
  • Chez Vallee is an old distillery built in 1881. It retains much of its original character and local tastings (within 5km) can be organised at your request or for a special occasion we will organise an after dinner tasting at home!
  • Cognac is 40 mins drive away and the beautiful old town is a must if you are serious about your Cognac and would like to visit one of the bigger houses. Eat at one of the many restaurants on the river or in July consider the Jazz and Blues Festival.
  • Jonzac is within 10km, a roman town with a thermal spa, organised events and exhibits, shops, boutiques, markets, night markets with live music and much more! A selection of restaurants and a beautiful chateau. Boulangeries and oyster stalls!
  • Vines stretch before Chez Vallee as far as the eye can see. Cycling routes and walking trails abound. Windmills on the horizon keep you orientated set against the big blue Charente skies.
