La Roque de Gouey

Portbail, Manche
Bed & Breakfast

A pretty old house in a lovely little-known fishing port on Normandy's coast: big beams, fireplace, a guest kitchen and jovial owners. A gem

Rooms sleep 3 – 5

A fishing and sailing port and a bridge with 13 arches: a pretty place to stay. The enchanting longère is the home of two of our favourite owners: Madame, the same honest open character as ever and Monsieur, retired, who has time to spread his modest farmer’s joviality. Your side of the house has its own entrance, dayroom and vast old fireplace where old beams and tomettes flourish. The bedrooms up the steepish outside stairs are small, with pretty bedcovers and antiques that are cherished, the ground-floor room is larger, and the breakfast tables sport flowery cloths. Brilliant value.

We had a wonderful time during our stay in Port Bail. Bernadette and Jean were very welcoming and provided us with a very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was delicious and we particulary enjoyed the home made jam and hot chocolate. The town of Port Bail is lovely and the walk to the beach very pleasant. We would highly recommend this B&B for its hospitality, presentation and location.

M & Mme Vasselin were very welcoming and friendly hosts and we had a really lovely coupe of days staying in the simple and immaculately clean rooms. The garden is gorgeous and perfectly tended and the guest kitchen, an extremely useful facility. Portbail is a lovely place - great beaches and a couple of lovely restaurants. We had a wonderful couple of days.
