Sarah, Andy, and their two young children moved here four years ago. The aim is to be self-sufficient so they’ve planted a willow coppice and fitted solar panels. Down a bumpy track from the village, ringed by countryside, the rustic farmhouse and outbuildings huddle round an ancient oak and duck pond. At one end of the family home find three simple bedrooms (one en suite) and a guest salon/dining room where you breakfast: eggs from the hens, home-pressed apple juice, the usual pastries. Part of the fun of staying is joining your hosts for supper; perhaps lamb or duck raised on the farm. You can explore both coasts from here.
