Bed & Breakfast

Culinary treats for foodies, bedrooms for style seekers and a fabulous area of France to discover – welcome to a country retreat

4 rooms

Rooms sleep 2

Meals are ‘en famille’ – four courses and delicious – and breakfasts include homemade muffins. Donna and Chris are great hosts, love to cook, and know the best secret places to visit. This fabulous house, a woad mill many centuries ago, has big windows to pull in the light and views that sail across rolling fields to the Pyrenees. Boutique bedrooms feed off a shared guest space (dining table, sofas, log-burner, books) which opens to the garden and landscaped pool. Cycle along the Canal du Midi, visit the bastide town of St Felix, and return to cool colours, sophisticated bathrooms, luxurious beds, and a choice of pillows!

This certainly exceeded all our expectations - the house is beautiful with fantastic views and Donna and Chris are the perfect hosts - dinner was thoroughly enjoyable. We will be back !

Helen, Ashford surrey

We were made welcome right from the start, Donna and Chris are great hosts. The rooms are clean and bright and the grounds offer superb views of the surrounding countryside. We had dinner in the evening and the 4 courses were of a very high standard. Breakfast in the morning was an impressive spread with a lot of choice. We would recommend this Chambre d'hote.

Steve, Champniers et reilhac

We stayed for two nights but we could have easily stayed for considerably longer. Great setting, overlooking the rolling countryside, lovely rooms, extremely good food and fantastic hosts. Strongly recommend this bed and breakfast.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Donna Orchard

  • The Saturday morning market in Revel is a must! Great local producers, always a lively colourful experience. Take cover in one of the cafes, order a kir or pastis and watch the world go by.
  • Keep an eye out for the very exotic looking Hoopoe birds that spend their summers here to escape the heat in Africa!
  • Sit on the swing in the garden, enjoy the peace and quiet and far reaching views. It's almost like meditating.
  • The Lac de St Ferreol is perfect for the sporting types. It is a 5k run around the lake, or you can hire kayaks or pedalos. There is also horse riding, cycling, rock climbing so plenty to keep even the most active people busy.
  • Toulouse is a dynamic, vibrant city, with a young trendy vibe. Great restaurants, super cool bars and a warm and friendly atmosphere and some pretty cool vintage clothing shops too.
  • Head off into the Corbieres/Mivervois wine region for the day, excellent small producers offering fabulous wines at very reasonable prices.. stunning scenery and the delightful little villages make it great day out.
