The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Sheena Gilmour

  • The superb Thursday market at Villefranche de Rouergue should not be missed. And there's a Sunday market at the attractive town of St Antonin Noble Val.
  • We are surrounded by the three wine-growing areas of Gaillac, Cahors and Marcillac .
  • There are lovely walks or cycle rides in the vicinity.
  • Several mediaeval bastide villages are within easy reach. Najac, in its stunning setting, is just minutes away.
  • We have been to all the local tourist sites so can suggest itineraries. Conques is particularly attractive in early summer. Albi, with its cathedral soaring over the banks of the Tarn and the Toulouse-Lautrec museum next door, is perfect at any time.
  • And there are plenty of other possibilities...!
