The
Experience

Come not for luxury but for deep country authenticity – and to make friends with a generous, charming, free-thinking family who gave up Paris for this lush corner of France. They have restored, renovated and eco-converted a run-down farm, insulated it with hemp, wattle and daub, then added wood-burning stoves, organic breakfasts… and cats, dogs, horses, hens, donkeys. Family rooms in outbuildings round the courtyard are wood-clad with sloping ceilings, rudimentary furnishings, mix and match bed linen, the odd rug. Dinner is in the kitchen diner – or the barns when there are campers. A place for new horizons.

Reviews

We had the family room for one night (14/08/15) and wished we had booked for longer! The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and the room certainly big enough for the five of us. The location was perfect as we were on our way down to the south and needed a stop over. the children loved the farm with a big trampoline, table tennis table and lots of room to explore. Breakfast was plentiful and consisted of homemade bread and preserves.

Le Bouchot is a hidden gem. We were given a very warm French welcome and helped to our spacious room in one of the farm’s barns. The room had ample space and enough beds for me, my wife and our 2 children. The children enjoyed playing with the animals, picking vegetables, playing on the trampoline and finding frogs in the pond. We elected to have food with the hosts each night. The food was a wonderful concoction of homemade treats. The hosts ensured our wine glasses were always full. We loved the farm enough to visit it again on our return through France. Highly recommended.
