The Experience

Say goodbye to the rest of the world – you’re delightfully isolated here and it feels wonderful. Step inside to find high ceilings, exposed beams and creaky floors, and settle in with the hamper of cheese, wine and brioche.

With so many communal spaces, sharing a meal and chatting over morning coffee is easy. Take a dip in the pool before relaxing in outdoor nooks with your favourite read; fire up the BBQ in the secluded rear courtyard; challenge your dearest to a round of boules and ping-pong.

Head to Magnac Laval (10km) for the weekly market, restaurants and cafés; for more adventurous days drive 30 minutes to the sandy beaches of Lac St. Pardoux for water-skiing, canoeing, fishing and roaming the woodland. Work up an appetite before heading home for your alfresco dinner under the setting sun.

Reviews

We had a pleasant stay at La Grange. The accommodation is charming and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. The jacuzzi was much appreciated at the end of the day!! Thanks to our hosts.

Mathilde, Rennes

Very pleasant stay, beautiful house and garden and pool, everything was quite nice. We enjoyed a delightful stay in a large house, also very nice that there were several seating areas over the property. Communication with the housekeepers went super raft, very friendly people. Everything was completely fine upon arrival, the hot tub was even already heated. The package of local products also tasted us. Had a great trip!!

Nelle, Sint-Niklaas

Beautiful restored barn very true to photos and description. Bucolic setting and nature at will. Brian is very responsive and kind. Once there, Leanne and Neil will make you feel at home! Small plus for the wood-fired hot tub. It's a shame not to have tasted the pool, which requires a little preparation before opening. We will come back and highly recommend. Paul

We had a great weekend. The house is charming, large, with a great kitchen. The environment is very calm. We felt very nice there. I recommend without hesitation!

Guillaume, Paris

Very, very nice house, very functional with the charm of the old. The bedrooms are comfortable and there are plenty of bathrooms, which is very convenient. The kitchen is fantastic. Great for family gatherings or gatherings for families or groups of friends. The surroundings are very beautiful, very very quiet.

La Grange is perfect. We had a lovely week with two other families. The house and gardens are beautiful with plenty of space for all. The children won’t leave the pool and the hot tub is the perfect place to relax. There are lots of different areas; always somewhere quiet to read, or somewhere different to gather for dinner. We cycled into the town each morning for fresh bread and there is a small supermarket nearby. You have beautiful walks, runs and rides out the door. Special thanks to Matt - booking couldn’t be easier and he was very helpful throughout. All in all, a superb place.

Joseph, Manchester

A beautiful relaxing & spacious property ideal for our family of thirteen. We particularly loved the numerous outdoor seating areas & spacious kitchen. The housekeepers Neil & Leanne were excellent. We loved visiting the local Michelin starred sites & the lake at Saint Pardoux, particularly popular with our grandchildren! You won’t be disappointed if you choose this lovely peaceful setting. Bon séjour!

Liz, Knutsford

We have just spent the most amazing 10 days at this incredibly special property. The house itself is a beautiful, old property with just enough modern touches and everything you need for a comfortable stay. plenty of outdoor space, the pool area is brilliant and our children were rarely out of the pool. this is an absolute hidden gem in a beautiful part of France. The friendly house keepers were only a phone call away and came regularly to clean the pool. We would love to return one day and would encourage you to book without hesitation.

Holly, Nottingham

Beautiful house, excellent equipment. Very good communication and accommodating. Thank you!

Lucas, Paris

Hello everyone, The house is nice, spacious. There are very nice rooms to live especially in the kitchen. Great for friends/family to gather together. The bedrooms are very well arranged upstairs, they also have bathrooms. Ideal for children because children can play indoors ( table tennis, board game) or outside (football, babington, pétanque, swimming pool ) Brian is available depending on your requests. I would highly recommend this house.

Yoann, Paris

We've stayed twice at this beautiful old barn! A huge amount of character, in a tranquil location, and the interior is stunning. The huge modern kitchen is a joy and the whole place is very spacious. Daily bike rides and walks are a great way to explore the nearby picturesque french villages. Lovely pool and a brand new hot tub!

John, London

We had a fantastic family holiday at La Grange. The house itself has so much character and charm. The kitchen is a great place to enjoy cooking and spend time together, I wish our kitchen at home was as nice! There were plenty of activities for the youngsters such as table tennis, badminton and swing ball as well as the garden being huge to play games in or just enjoy the peace and quiet of country life. Everybody loved the swimming pool and the hot tub is a real bonus. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Jan, Banbury

La Grange is a lovely renovated coach house. It is cosy, comfortable and practical all at once. La Grange feels like a home not just a house with its gorgeous family sized kitchen, and two separate lounge areas each with a fire or log burner. An idyllic spot to while away hot summer days, bike ride or just laze by the pool but I can also picture crisp cold christmas get-togethers en famille.
