This small cottage is secluded by greenery from the owners maison du vigneron where you are greeted on arrival with an aperitif. Outdoors is as peaceful as within.The kitchen has everything you need and you’ll find a bottle of wine in the fridge, along with milk and sparkling water. Concoct supper with market-fresh produce or join John and Kevin at the big house for dinner during the week: John is a fabulous cook.Pack a lunch for a day trip on the languid Canal du Midi – it passes nearby. This is an interesting part of France to visit, particularly out of season. In spring the roadsides burst with wild flowers, in autumn the vines are magnificent. Walk straight into the hills from the village, or swim in the river of lovely Bize Minervois.
