Bed & Breakfast

If you want a charming base from which to discover the treasures of the Camargue, look no further. Artistic, friendly, steeped in luxury…

4 rooms

Rooms sleep 2

The owners – artists, perfectionists – love nothing more than to share with guests their passion for the Camargue, and the treasures of Arles and Nîmes. Birdwatching, riding, fishing, archaeology… they can recommend the best tours and the best people. As for the house, its sleepy village façade is deceptive: in reality it is immense, with high ceilings, tall windows and a stunning courtyard garden. Walls are subtly limewashed, linen is hand monogrammed, toiletries are très chic, and the suite, spacious and serene, has its own boudoir. For breakfast? Fruit smoothies, Fougasse d’Aigle Morte pastries, homemade crème caramels.

Spent a magical 2 nights at Habanera - our first visit to the Camargue. Michel & Mireille were charming hosts and the breakfasts served outside on our terrace were out of this world. The house, although a little difficult to find, is well worth the search and is filled with artistic and historic treasures. Michel was extremely helpful in suggesting places for us to visit and his recommendations were first rate. We also enjoyed the family atmosphere at Habanera and meeting their two little grandsons.

Graham and kate, Carnforth

Habanera is situated in the centre of the small town of Beauvoisin. Due to the one-way streets, it is difficult to find but worth the effort. The house has been tastefully restored and both Mireille and Michel are charming. Michel, who is an artist, presented us with wonderful breakfasts. Our room was a very good size furnished with antiques, clean and had a well-appointed bathroom with both bath and shower. We were given good advice on places to visit. This is a great place to stay if plan to visit the Camargue, Nimes and Arles.

Alan, London

Only superlatives suffice to describe our experience at Habanera. Wonderful style and quality in the décor, exquisite breakfasts, the flowerful garden with its pool and shady arbours.... Above all delightful, enthusiastic hosts who go well beyond expectations. A special treat of the first order never to be forgotten!

Patricia, Nottingham

A wonderful, relaxing place with charming hosts. We had a beautiful spacious room with bathroom and listened to the swifts calling. A very comfortable bed and the most beautiful bed linen ever! It is perfectly placed for discovering the Camargue and we spent three peaceful nights here. We will never forget where we were on June 24th 2016, when our hosts commiserated with us over the news.

Angela, Bristol

Just a note to say that we have just spent two enchanting days at Habanera which is exactly as described in your book only more so. Every detail was perfect and delightful and Michel and Mireille are the most endearing hosts. We will return

The most delightful place! Michel and Mirielle are the loveliest people and wonderful hosts. The house itself was a dream- beautifully furnished and decorated with a lovely garden which just invited you to relax in it. And the breakfasts were a work of art in themselves! We only stayed for two nights- but I wish it had been longer.

Mandira, Stockton on tees

Habanera is one of those places that is actually even better than in the photos: wonderful, interesting hosts, an amazing house... A tour through the Camargue was organized for me and two other guests at super-short notice, and we loved it. I spent one of my best vacations in the South of France and this was a total highlight!

Julia, Berlin

A joy to be there. we went for 2 nights and stayed for 5. A large room opening directly to the flower filled garden with breakfast on the patio. The breakfast was the best I have ever had in France. Fresh squeezes juice, fresh strawberry puree for the yoghurt, pineapple, cherries, madeleines warm from the oven, as well as the usual croissant and homemade jam. Our room was full of oictuers and antiques, with a comfortable bed and good shower room. The pool is a small round one, good for hot days, but not the sort for training lengths. The rooms vary in prive; all are lovely. Do visit.

Local points of interest from Michel Joassard

  • Habanera is situated 30mins from the coast and 30mins from a number of beautiful historic Roman sites.
  • Come explore; the Nimes arenas, the Arles amphitheatre, the fortress battlements of Aigues Mortes, the Pont du Gard, the beaches of Saintes Marries de la Mer, the duchy of Uzes, the papal palace in Avignon and the artists in St Remy de Provence.
  • At Habanera, we have bikes on offer for you. A perfect way to discover the vineyards of Nimes and the surrounding small lakes.
  • During your stay, an ornithological professor can accompany you in 4x4, providing a tour of the Camargue region. In the wild and mystical surrounding, learn about the pink flamingos, bovine traditions and the horses of the area, known as the 'White Manes'
  • Here at Habanera we can organise a fishing party for our guests, either out to sea (home of the tuna shark) or to the rivers (where catfish can be found). For golf-lovers we can reserve a game for your pleasure at one of the most beautiful greens in France
  • We organise trips to a ranch, a veritable insight into local traditions! Wander the swamps on horseback, riding among the bulls, then return to an unforgettable moment whereby you learn local songs, all sat round a typical Carmague dinner.
