The Experience

Just off the main road along the east coast, this modern house is set deep in a tropical garden with citrus trees and a rose arbour, and has a pretty heated pool that looks almost like a pond.  A wellness area, spa, sauna and massages are available (by arrangement).

Gil and Geneviève are passionate about food, so breakfast is a treat: pastries, breads, homemade jams and Corsican honey, fresh fruit, eggs, local hams, cheese and tea infusions such as a fabulous local rooibos and homegrown pomegranate flower. They’ll also make picnics filled with Corsican specialities such as charcuterie, stuffed vegetables, local cheeses and a bottle of wine – enjoy them in the garden or on the beach.

Relax on your private terrace under the shaded pergola in the garden, or next to the pool. Favone is three minutes’ drive and restaurants on the beach, and you can hire kayaks and scuba diving gear or explore the coast by yacht. The historic town of Porto Vecchio is 40 minutes south.

Reviews

I was sad that my itinerary didn't allow me to accept their most generous offer of a free night as they really are exceptionally warm, generous and welcoming hosts and people. I loved all the attention Madame put into the details on the room and the tour of the garden I was given by Gil, as well as the assortment of curious and wonderful citrus fruit from his garden he insisted I take with me.

Introducing

Gil & Geneviève Castellana

Geneviève is Corsican and inherited the property from her family, and Gil is French. They have a passion for hospitality and ran a smart hotel in Menton for decades, and when they retired they decided to open up three rooms in their property - one room is in the main house and three are in the garden.
