Manoir d’Astrée

Lugon et l'Ile du Carnay, Gironde
Bed & Breakfast

Sumptuous bedrooms, a comfortable shared sitting room, local treats for breakfast, vineyards to explore and a pool for cooling off

4 rooms

Rooms sleep 2

In the gentle folds of Bordeaux sits this 1766 house half way up a hill, with views across vineyards – swoop through electronic gates to find owner Béatrice who gives you a comfortable shared sitting room and four private-feeling bedrooms. There are three on the ground floor and one upstairs, all with a Gustavian flavour and extremely plush; sleep peacefully in beautifully dressed beds, pad around serious bathrooms with soft robes and pebble flooring. Breakfast (outside on balmy days) on local jams, honey and fresh pastries from the village baker. Splash in the pool, wander the grounds, visit vineyards, discover Perigueux. Restful.

This B & B is one of the best my wife and I have ever stayed at. It is located in the wine country about 40 minutes from Bordeaux. The quality of the fittings and ambience are definitely 5 star. The owner Beatrice is extremely helpful and friendly. She suggested places for us to visit during the day and places to eat at night at reasonable prices. We would definitely recommend a stay at Manoir d'astree during your visit to the area. You won't be disappointed.

Greg, Sydney

Manoir d'Astree is a superb choice for B&B, not only for it's facilities, appearance, location and comfort but also for the hospitality evinced by Beatrice and Luc. Last year I received a lot of 'brownie points' from my wife for a great B&B choice in Haute Garonne and Manoir d'Astree is in all respects equally excellent. We thought that both hosts would enjoy a break in the others venues!. The Sawdays description is totally accurate and , if anything, the reality is better than the photographs portray. Thank you again, Beatrice and Luc - we loved our time with you.

I am so glad I found this place on your website. Absolutely amazing, beautiful, perfect accommodation. Hosts were wonderful too. My first stop on my next trip to France!
