The
Experience

A super-stylish makeover by the de Gamas who moved here from Paris with their young children. All is pale and lovely, clear and uncluttered – designed to enhance the elegant proportions of this handsome Chartreuse house. You eat – superbly and seasonally – in the main house. You sleep in beautifully compact rooms in the converted barns. Each has it’s own entrance and is on two levels with beds upstairs. Bathrooms are sleek, with walk-in showers; one a spa bath. Roam the grounds; there’s a wow of a pool, swings and table tennis; stroll through the vines; book beauty treatments, or baby-sitting, and head for Bordeaux. Smart.

Reviews

We recently visited Clos Marcamps for 3 days with our two children (2 and 5). The de Gamas were incredible and attentive hosts. The main house and the rooms are so unbelievable stylish and thoughtful. The attention to detail was impeccable in both the design of the rooms and the service. Their recommendations for trips around the house were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed. The pool and the grounds are absolutely amazing. We also thoroughly enjoyed meeting this absolutely charming family. This ranks among the best places that we have stayed in our travels. I would absolutely return.

Perfect place for our 44th wedding anniversary. Excellent location, very comfortable, good rooms, fine pool, first rate service from the owners and staff and an outstanding dinner. Could not recommend more highly.

Reluctant to say how very very beautiful this place is incase it becomes too full for us to return again - it is magnificent - in great area to visit St Emelion and the Arachon Coast - impeccable furnishings and the accommodation throughout is a very high standard. You do feel though very at home in this elegant chateaux thanks to the owners and their friendly welcoming manor - had dinner at the host table and brunch on the Sunday morning, it is outstanding cuisine - perfect stay for us and our children - the pool is a lovely sloping slate and it was a pleasure to spend a day around there too
