The
Experience
An elegant village manor in a glorious setting: the views are stupendous. The owners live in Paris but the genial manager will introduce you to a fine living room full of warm bright colours overlooking a sweeping lawn (play the piano, browse the books) and excellent bedrooms. The tower suite and small double have a modern feel, the other rooms, huge and high-ceilinged, are more classical; all have subtle colours, new wood floors, space for armchairs and sofas, and good lighting. Breakfasts are fresh, bathrooms delightful… there’s a heated pool shared with gîte guests, a river beach nearby, riding next door.

To visit the Dordogne region, this is an extraordinary good adress. We had a very warm welcome, a splendid great room, and it even was n't the most expensive one. As a detail: the WIFI was not working very good, and I told it the lady who runs the place, and 5 min later I heard her at the telephone calling someone to fix the thing. When we came in at the evening all was very well working. We did quite a lot of B&B also in England( we are from Belgium) and that was one of those you can say:"this is Sawday's, a truly special place, nice room, where you feel fine and welcome, and feel at home"

Wonderful location, room large and comfortable - ideal for coping with the hot weather for our 4 night stay. Grounds well kept, extensive but not overly so, incorporating a well sited heated outdoor pool and an interesting wildlife pond. Celia is an elegant, glamorous and appropriately attentive and friendly hostess. She served us (outdoors, because of the weather) lovely breakfasts with fresh and home produced ingredients, and on our last night dinner (on request) was enjoyed with friends and other guests - a memorable feast of local delicacies. Highly recommended and excellent value.

A wonderful place to stay. Bedrooms are enormous and well furnished. The welcome was really friendly and we were made to feel at home. Evening meals were available and really good. Breakfasts always included freshly cooked patisserie. You are treated like 'Lords of the Manor' Well worth a visit and it is convenient to the sites of the Dordogne. All this and a heated swimming pool.
