Le Mazet

We arrived at the Le Mas and Le Mazet and I immediately felt I had made the right choice. The fire was lit and a bottle of wine was on the table, our hosts Rupert and Franck were even nicer in person attentive, knowledgable and passionate about what they do. I see why they are so popular and booked up, this kind of attention to detail in hospitality you come across all too rarely. Well done to you both we are looking to return with the family and enjoy the pool and the outside kitchen this time. A very special place.

Le Mazet was super accomodation in a lovely setting. Its situation, within easy reach of Montpazier, Perigueux and the Dordogne/Sarlat area, gave us a wealth of places to explore. Our hosts, Rupert & Franck, were wonderfully welcoming and helpful. A splendid holiday!

We have just returned from our week staying in Le Mazet and WOW what a fantastic gem it is, The location and the views were just perfect, not only did the Gites have everything you could possibly need the attention to detail was superb, Rupert and Frank are just the nicest hosts anyone could ask for we will definitely be returning in the future

Such a jewel in the crown in terms of hospitality and location. Rupert and Franck were the perfect hosts. Attention to detail in Le Mazet was perfect along with a welcome pack including home made jam..... I would not hesitate in recommending Le Mas & Le Mazet to anyone who wants peace and tranquility. Conveniently located in the Dordogne within easy access to Bergerac and Sarlat, Le Mazet is ideal for those wishing to take an active or peaceful break in the countryside, as well as exploring the many medieval villages in the area. Comfortable accommodation with everything provided, the owners could not have been more helpful in ensuring that we had a positive memorable stay. Strongly recommended.

This was my third time at le Mazet and it is just WOW every time. The hosts Rupert and Franck have created a unique and special place that is just wonderful. The house is equipped with everything you could want. The beds are heavenly. We will be happy to come back. Thank you very much

Le Mazet is truly a fantastic holiday home. There is no other conclusion for us! The beautiful view, the peace, the space. The house is trendy and very fully furnished. Equipped with every comfort. In addition, the entire site, le Mas and le Mazet, feels very good. The beautiful gardens that are palpably maintained with love. The hosts Rupert and Franck are wonderful people. Friendly, warm and very welcoming. A big 10 plus!

Beautiful location. A gem in Dordogne!

It was spring and a charming little house (le Mazet) covered with blooming roses awaited us in the Périgord. At the top of a hill, with a clear view on the forest and the surrounding fields, an old farm of the XVI century. Frank and Rupert have managed to preserve an ancient heritage while adding modern comforts. Every detail is thought out for your well-being. We will remember the time spent reading under the old oak trees, the sunsets sipping a good wine, shared games ... We appreciated the presence of our hosts, always warm and discreet. We will surely come back in the autumn

Le Mazet was everything we could have hoped for and needed. A perfect retreat from busy working lives and the welcome from Rupert and Franck couldn’t have been warmer. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat for two then Le Mazet is the place for you. Wonderful cosy living area, kitchen with everything we needed to cook for ourselves and a calming and comfortable bedroom with ensuite. Its set in beautiful countryside with an abundance of wildlife - we never went out without our binoculars. We will definitely be back – maybe persuading our family to stay in Le Mas with us.

Rupert and Franck have done a wonderful job of renovating this beautiful collection of old périgourdian farm buildings. Every detail has been carefully thought through. Le Mazet has all the modern comforts you could wish for whilst retaining all its charm and character. Post lockdown, it was so perfect for us that we extended our stay 7 to 10 days.The location is stunning and peaceful with views stretching out across the rolling Dordogne countryside. Evenings relaxing with a glass of chilled rosé and watching the sunset, what more could you want! Thank you so much for making us so welcome!

A New Year break tucked away in a luxurious hideaway bolthole for two, with picturesque views across the Dordogne countryside? Don't mind if we do! Sleepy villages, sunset walks, roaring fires, oysters, wine and even truffle hunting! (Although it was sometimes difficult to drag ourselves from the most comfortable bed in this quirky, but luxurious, upside down cottage.) As with Le Mas, Rupert and Franck have thought of everything a guest could desire, and are unobtrusively on hand with expert, friendly local knowledge. Our first Dordogne break during winter, but certainly not our last!

This was our second stay at this property. This first time we enjoyed Le Mas with friends. We returned to Le Mazet for a more intimate stay, lured by the graciousness of our hosts Rupert and Franck and the serenity of the Dordogne. A land of green and gold and gorgeous sunsets even the rainy days were a delight. Le Mazet was perfect for our exploration of the Dordogne and we loved returning with our market finds to cook a meal and enjoy the property at days end.

Le Mazet completely surpassed our expectations. It is a beautiful house in gorgeous grounds. The views are stunning and the smell of lavender with a morning coffee in Le Mazet's garden was just the best to start to the day (made all the better by a morning delivery from the baker). The house has everything you need for a great stay. I especially loved the coffee machine with attached milk frother and the big walk in shower. Rupert and Frank are fantastic hosts and could not have done more to make us feel welcome and help us have a great trip. We would love to come back and visit again.

Amazing place, Rupert and Franck made us feel welcome the moment we arrived at their stunning property. They missed nothing to ensure we had a first class week holiday. From their own homemade jams to go with the morning bread orders, to the suggested “not to be missed” restaurant list. The location is beautiful and the atmosphere was so relaxing that we didn’t want to leave. I honestly can’t recommend it enough, we will definitely be back. Thank you Rupert and Franck.

This was our first visit to Le Mazet and we cannot wait to return. The whole experience from start to finish was truly fabulous. We were here with our friends and so had both Le Maz & Le Mazet and they are both equally beautiful. Rupert and Franck have thought of everything to make something really special for their guests , they are the most amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Le Mazet is a wonderful hideaway for two with everything you could want, with its own beautiful outside space and the bench perfectly placed for watching the sunsets. Bliss!

Le Mazet is a gorgeous little retreat for two; we have visited several times and are always impressed with how clean and well-equipped it is, how beautifully furnished it is, and how stunning the view is across the fields to some of the most impressive sunsets I have ever seen. The owner's can't do enough to help should you need it, however they are incredibly discreet and you could easily not see them all week should you be looking for total independence. This is a perfect spot from which to explore the Dordogne, it works really well both hired with Le Mas for larger groups, and on it's own.

We have just returned home from a week in Le Mazet and Le Mas. My mother in law stayed in Le Mazet whilst the rest of the family stayed in Le Mas. Le Mazet was beautifully styled with everything having been considered to make ones stay perfect. The property has been decorated to an extremely high standard with luxurious touches like White Company toiletries. The surrounding gardens and countryside beyond are breathtaking. This really is an idyllic place. My mother in law is very keen to go back!

A little piece of paradise, we stayed in Le Mazet for a week and thoroughly enjoyed everything about the place. Rupert and Franck's attention to detail was evident everywhere we looked. Plus the Dordogne area was beautiful and we had many great recommendations for enjoyable days out. We hope to return soon.
