What an idyllic spot from which to explore Lusignac, St Severin and Ribérac. Le Logis is set in a 17-acre park and St Emilion vineyards are only 40km away. Welcoming Cornelia will quickly make you at home; monsieur is a wine dealer. Their 1700s Chartreuse house has been beautifully restored with an eye to its former glory; four bedrooms and a suite lead off a long corridor (on the first floor) where coffee machine and comfy chairs wait, and light pours in. Outside, one of the loveliest pools we’ve seen: sloping down from a sandy ‘beach’, shared with the gîte. Ideal for groups, so gather your best friends for an enchanting escape.

The neighbourhood

Local points of interest from Cornelia Dumoncel d'Argence

  • La Montagne sits on a beautiful 7ha mixed landscape for lovely walks and and peaceful relaxation.Either at the honesty pool bar, at the beach, a little round of table-tennis or having a go at Boules. We also have some bikes you might want to use.
  • Patrick is in the wine business and has a well stocked cellar. He is happy to organize visits to various vineyards in the Bordeaux region where you will get a warm welcome.Equally he can do a wine tasting for you in his cellar with abundant knowledge.
  • If you want to explore the region there are plentiful places to discover. Like our local market in Riberac every Friday. It is the biggest around and an absolute must to see and be seen. Here you find everything from local foods, clothing, pottery etc.
  • Perigueux is the capital and an interesting medieval town with an impressive cathedral and lot's of shops and restaurants in picturesque cobbled streets. Brantome is not far with it's canals, also known as our 'little Venice' and very charming.
  • On the other side there is Aubeterre with a magnificant Monolite church and a busy square with shops and bistros. There is the possibility to do water sports like kayakinig.
  • Within a 30min drive we can recommend a wide variety of restaurants , some very good ones with a Michelin star.Close by we have a well stocked supermarket, newsagent and bakeries. And for anything else you just need to ask!
