Geoff and Gaye want your stay to go without a hitch, and they’re proud of the rich history of their house. Solid, handsome and 500 years old, Cefn-y-Dre is on the fringe of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park with views to the Preseli Hills. The sitting room is set aside for guests, notable for its striking red chairs used during Prince Charles’ investiture in 1969 – quite a talking point! Geoff is a great cook who takes pleasure in using local produce and home-grown veg from the large garden; not so long ago he trained at Ballymaloe. St David’s, with its ancient cathedral, is nearby, as are some of Britain’s finest beaches.

Cefyn-y-Dre was altogether a total treat to stay in. Geoff's cooking and the quality of ingredients is second to none. The bedroom was really comfy and well supplied, there was a sitting room set aside with a wealth of books, guides and maps. The hosts, Gaye and Geoff, could not have been kinder or more attentive. It was a real treat to stay with them.

Cefyn-y-Dre was a gem of a discovery. Despite arriving late, we were given a warm welcome. We stayed in the gallery room. The bed was extremely comfortable, with views out to the handsome garden. We enjoyed the under floor heating in the en suite bathroom, and the HD television. We both had a full Welsh breakfast, cooked by Geoff. All local produce. After a day out exploring we returned to tea and home made cake, still warm from the oven. Later we played scrabble by the log burner with a bottle of red. A really lovely stay, with really lovely, warm hosts.
