David and Philippa, who live in the farmhouse opposite, are deeply embedded in their eco-friendly patch so you know you’re in Wales at these two cottages filled with Welsh art, Welsh blankets (from Jane Beck no less) and a ‘bible’ to guide you to all the super things to do.
Each has a private garden and shares a games room complete with table tennis and dart board. The ten-acre farm includes orchard, veg beds, bees, pigs and owl boxes. Children can join in and you can buy homemade pies and sausages, farm eggs, veg and honey.
Walk out into unspoilt countryside, cycle quiet lanes (there is secure storage) or drive to the coast with a picnic for long beaches and fine sand. Find the sundowner spot complete with blankets and corkscrew and settle in while the children dip in the pond and build dens under the treehouse.
