Wildlife fans will swoon: spot whales, dolphins, eagles, seals, otters and deer; wander through tall grasses sprinkled with bluebells, wild garlic and rare orchids. Stride over stunning hills, cycle your socks off, fish from the shore โ€“ there’s much to do and see from your award-winning architect designed retreat on the hill. Inside is equally invigorating: white walls, painted oak floors, floor to ceiling windows for long and wide views, a crisply dressed bed, super shower room, a squashy elephant grey sofa facing the sea and a sleek kitchen on the side. Best of all it’s deeply secretive: lovely Robbie and Ian are just down the hill but you can’t see them and they can’t see you. Instead they leave you alone with a welcome tray of treats and a good bottle of wine. If it all sounds too rustic for you then take heart! There’s widescreen TV with satellite, WiFi, a smart music system, DVDs and designer furniture; The Three Chimneys is a short hop as is the Red Roof cafe. Lovers will feel entwined but there’s a surprisingly spacious feel so you won’t be getting in each other’s way. Sublime.

We had a fantastic week on Skye at An Airigh. Amazing setting and base from which to explore the whole island. Beautifully furnished with local crafts (most of which we subsequently visited and bought). Robbie and Ian were extremely welcoming and on hand if we needed anything. Would happily return again to escape busy city life.

An Airigh is an outstanding location, fantastic views over Loch Dunvegan and a great base to explore the Isle of Skye. Ian and Robbie were great hosts - if you are planning a visit to the Misty Isle then this is the place to stay!!

Paul, Preston

I asked the question why choose this area of Skye to live, after the week I know the answer, Galtrigll is a very special place. Everything in An Airigh is first class, so easy to step through the door and just relax, the accommodation is so well designed and very clean and warm every thing so easy to use and so so comfortable. We got a very warm welcome from Ian and Robbie thank you. The shop and cafe, also Skye weavers are worth a visit every one so friendly. Glendale web site is full of useful information.

So comfortable, so peaceful. Drinking in the view every day is definitely soul-restoring. Attentive (but never intrusive) hosts. We loved it.

Our favourite 'hidden bolt hole' There is simply nothing better, it' s relaxing and beautiful. A little corner of calm with it's amazing views, caring owners who really mean it when they say if you want anything just ask. Lovely vegetables (thanks once again Robbie) . Ian and Robbie really go that extra mile and reminiscing on our recent stay just puts a smile on my face.

We had a lovely time. An Airigh was perfect, the standard of the accommodation was amazing and tastefully furnished with some of the local products. The views from An Airigh are breathtaking and the loch provides a wealth of wildlife to keep you occupied. Ian and Robbie have provided everything you need to plan anything from local hikes and site seeing, our expectations were well and truly exceeded. We would recommend An Airigh to anyone.

Andrew, Poole

A peaceful location with stunning views across the Loch where we spotted porpoises feeding and gannets diving. The strategically placed sofa affords the perfect panorama where you can spend hours watching the ever changing weather and amazing marine wildlife. The silence strikes you; perfect for total relaxation. Ian and Robbie are on hand if needed but will respect your privacy and leave you alone to ponder or paint meditate or muse. Recommended for anyone needing a place to retreat, relax or recuperate.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay in An Airigh and have already recommended it to a number of friends and family. An unbelievably beautiful setting, with incredible views, and such lovely hosts. Everything we could have wanted was provided for - the property was really well presented, tidy and an ideal and very thoughtful design for 2. Already missing the log fires coming back from one of the many local walks on the mountains or beaches. A perfect getaway - we hope to visit again soon!

Rowan, London

The location and accommodation couldn't be better and we really appreciated the care and attention that's gone into it - Ian and Robbie have done a great job.

Lynne, Manchester

We enjoyed Skye through November most unpredictable weather, and An Airigh has been our own little haven with its scenic view and well-thought spaces. From our little globetrotting experience, there are few places in the world where you can enjoy remoteness, admire a full rainbow dropping into the sea while zipping your whisky on a comfortable couch at the heat of a fire. Scotland at its best! And, Ian is a wonderful guest. Paola & Paolo

A truly beautiful property in an idyllic location. The attention to detail is superb, especially the locally sourced tweed cushions and curtains, and sheepskin rugs which add a luxurious touch. After exploring the beauty of Skye each day, it was truly lovely to return to An Airigh and relax. Robbie and Ian are great hosts and have thought of everything. We loved our stay at An Airigh.

Deborah, Falmouth

The location and the view are breathtaking. The house is beautiful with fantastic design combined with comfort. It is equipped to a really high standard with lots of information on things to do in the area. It's so peaceful just watching the ever changing light across the sea.

David, Chester

An Airigh was the perfect choice for our honeymoon. Situated in breathtaking scenery (think big skies, vast open water and mountains) and surrounded by wildlife, the little house is expertly designed, comfortable and very stylish. Absolutely amazing, thanks Ian and Robbie.

Alice, London

It is in the details An excellent experience, in a truly beautiful location. A modern minimalistic but still luxurious designed house. And yes, the view and location are indeed splendid. But I think most remarkable are all the small details that makes this a perfect stay: - The used materials from Skye, like curtains and skins. - Maps and cards - The cutlery Etc...

Rob, Den haag

A beautifully appointed contemporary house in a wonderful location. We came seeking peace and tranquility and were not disappointed. A warm welcome too from Ian and Robbie. Thoroughly recommended.

Matthew, London

If you enjoy tranquility and waking up to stunning views, then there's nowhere better on Skye than An Airigh. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and superbly equipped, including an easy-to-use log burner to provide added cosiness. The owners, Ian and Robbie, couldn't have made us feel more welcome. We loved every minute of our time there.

Steve, London

This is the perfect accommodation in a stunning location. Ian and Robbie are the kindest of hosts. They have created a home in which you can appreciate the stunning views from every room. There is an extremely high level of cleanliness and convenience, and it's an exceptionally comfortable place in which to relax. We were grateful for their generous welcome gifts. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend An Airigh for anyone visiting this more remote part of beautiful north west Skye.

Julian, Dorset

If you're looking to chill and have a relaxing break in extremely comfortable well-equipped accommodation, this is the place to go. Wonderful view that changes by the hour, you see a different island or landscape almost every day and you can sit and watch wildlife and the view for hours on end.

Jayne, Durham

Amazing contemporary and high quality accommodation in the stunningly beautiful north west of the Isle of Skye. Fantastic and ever changing views from the full length windows out over the sea and to the Outer Hebrides. Ian and Robbie were perfect hosts and can thoroughly recommend a stay here to relax and unwind.
