The
Experience

Here you’ll find peace aplenty. Five miles on a single track road brings you to this quirky modern house, all squares and rectangles on the outside, softened with larch cladding. Admire the wildflower grass roof, feel snug in winter thanks to heaps of insulation, and marvel at the solar panels and heat recovery system installed in this truly environmentally-friendly house. Inside it’s a relaxing, stylish space with ever-present loch-vistas from windows and timber terrace. Pop on a vinyl record, relax on retro seating, enjoy the ultra modern kitchen and reclaimed wood dining table in the open-plan living area; on the same floor are comfortable bedrooms (the largest has a bath with a view), complete with stag motifs and bright cushions. En suite bathrooms are snazzy. Friendly owners Shirley and Terence, who designed it all with flair, are based eleven miles away in their B&B and will drop in to welcome you. Walk from the house to a bronze age fort, or down to the stony beach on the loch for a swim (if you dare). Further afield find deserted sandy beaches or book a cruise from Ullapool to spot sea eagles or dolphins.
