The
Experience

Stroll the streets of the lovely Georgian market town of Wetherby – you’re in the thick of it here so you can leave your car outside the cottage and walk everywhere. Browse the lovely shops and Thursday market, have a day at the races, or spot blue plaques to learn about the people who made this town. By the River Wharfe, you might hear tunes from a Yorkshire brass band playing at the traditional bandstand. Back at the cottage, you will still hear the buzz of traffic from the road outside but will feel far away from the modern world. It’s all hugely comfortable and with retro styling – underfloor heating under reclaimed York stone flags, classy leather chesterfield and Persian rug in the sitting room, super modern kitchen corner but with lovely vintage style units and white marble surfaces. Upstairs you can settle down on plump pillows on the huge mahogany bed, or watch the world go by from the window seat. The bathroom is at the back of the house, with white marble floor, big roll top bath, great shower above, and views over riverside meadows. Harewood House and Fountains Abbey are well worth a visit by car too.
