The Experience

Way up a simple track, your stone-walled, stone-tiled hideaway was built almost entirely from reclaimed materials. Much of it crafted by Ellie, who will greet you on arrival and lives in a 16th century timber-framed house on the estate.Inside is open plan and easy and filled with fresh flowers. Recline on your leather chesterfield, toes directed at a wood-burner stacked with logs from the woods, or sit out on the veranda with Ellie’s homemade cake or a glass of wine – there are magnificent views across open pastures to the Teme and Kyre valleys.Venture further to foodie Ludlow, book-lined Hay-on-Wye and the grand industrial heritage that is Ironbridge. Or you can take to the slow life on the steam railway, stride out on the Mortimer Trail, meander through Herefordshire villages. Return to much tranquillity.

The Coach House is a beautiful and tranquil hideaway. We had a delightful weekend break and the accommodation was absolutely faultless. Small, cozy and very romantic. We arrived after a long journey, to the welcoming sight of Ellie's delicious Victoria sponge cake which was just what was needed with a cup of tea. The Coach House is well situated for exploring Tenbury Wells, Ludlow and other local areas of interest, whilst being remote and quiet enough for those lazy evenings watching the sunset and listening to nature. We will definitely be back. Thank you Ellie x

Quiet, beautiful, clean, characterful and very comfortable. We loved the place. Superbly equipped and lovely touches with pieces of pottery pretty china and lots to read. We did not really want to go out! Stunning views out over farmland, easy access to super walks for the dogs and Ellie the hostess is completely charming. The homemade cake was delicious and the whole experience was amazing value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend this unique property to anyone.

The neighbourhood

This bucolic corner of England is at the borders of Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Shropshire, and there are walks from the door through footpaths and bridleways where you can spot plenty of wildlife, including rabbits, badgers, buzzards and woodpeckers. The nearest town for stocking up is Tenbury Wells, three miles away: as well as independent shops and a supermarket, there are some good eating places: Pembroke House serves excellent food in a traditional 16th century pub with a garden.

Walks - The Coach House sits beside our ancient unspoilt wood full of wildlife and wild flowers, a wonderful place for walking or quietly bird watching. Or enjoy the network of paths from the cottage. Herefordshire is an area of outstanding natural beauty.
Architecture and history - Visit the medieval ruins of; Ludlow Castle or Stokesay Castle, a beautiful 13th Century manor house and moat. Hereford with the wonderful Cathedral and chained library. Witley Court, a 17th Century ruined Italianate mansion.
We sit on the borders of three of the most beautiful counties in England. Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire. Renowned for the black and white villages trial. Malvern Hills boast the most spectacular views in the country.
Things of interest - Horse racing enthusiasts will enjoy Ludlow, Hereford and Worcester racecourses.The fine Georgian town of Ludlow, with markets nearly every day. Hay on Wye famous for its bookshops and world renowned Hay festival.
