The Experience

Sink into the chesterfield by the fire and enjoy an outstanding G&T – with 165 craft gins on the menu and 14 tonics this is G&T Central. Not only that, the food is largely locally sourced with herbs from the garden and a sophisticated menu, and you can have your wedding party or special gathering here.

We love this Georgian country-house hotel in 11 acres of grounds at the end of a track, close to Bath and Bradford-on-Avon. Choose from bedrooms in the house or those in the ground-floor stables. You’ll find the staff a delight and their welcome extends to families and dogs: note the dog baskets and the rabbit-rich grounds.

Stroll down to the canal and walk along the tow path, or hire a narrow boat for the day. Stay put and use the gym and indoor heated pool, book a massage and treatment, have afternoon tea.

Reviews

Thanks to the team for a lovely couple of days - you made us and Benjy the Shih Tzu feel very welcome - breakfasts and dinners were delicious - Mum said that the hake with the risotto was the best she'd tasted!

Location

The neighbourhood

The hotel stands in 11 private acres surrounded by fields and is 100 yards from the Kennet and Avon Canal. It's a mile from Bradford-on-Avon, an edge-of-Cotswolds town that straddles the river and is distinguished by its Georgian architecture. Make the most of its classy independent shops and good pubs and restaurants. Hop on the train and you land in Bath – 15 minutes away – for more smart shopping, theatre, Thermae Bath Spa, antiques and books.
