A honeysuckle-clad house looking down the river Kennet valley. Mike and Louise’s home has a friendly vibe; he speaks French and they have stories to tell of their travels. Discover walls of books, a tribal rug on a chair, kilims, African pieces, a magnificent gold-framed patriarchal portrait above a wood-burner. Bedrooms have art, flowers and fine linen; one has a charming old Indian banister as the bedhead. Breakfast is in the sunny, open-plan kitchen: honey from the farm next door, local Ramsbury sausages. Savernake Forest is on the doorstep – heaven for walking and foraging; Marlborough has an annual jazz festival; Avebury stone circle is nearby.

What a great stay we had in this beautiful house. It really was the best. We were made to feel so welcome by Mike who coped admirably as Louise was away! He cooked us a delicious breakfast and generally looked after us so well. He was able to offer us suggestions of local places to eat. A great fun host! Such a happy stay. We highly recommend Scarwood. Sue, Richard and Jo

Had a wonderful relaxing stay with charming and generous hosts. The room was delightful with views down the valley and an enormous comfortable sumptuous bed. Louise and Mike could not have been more helpful, suggesting places of interest in the locale to visit and places to eat. Thoroughly recommend a visit.
