The
Experience

One mile from the sea, a remarkable house full of beautiful things. Shahriar – photographer, holistic therapist, Chelsea gold-medal winner – has created an artistic bolthole: books, African masks, an honesty bar, chic bedrooms and two sitting rooms that double as art galleries. You are looked after with great kindness. Shahriar has a couple of treatment rooms where, in cahoots with local therapists, he offers massage, shiatsu and reiki. You breakfast on exotic fruits, Armagnac omelettes, or the full cooked works; on a bamboo terrace in summer. Don’t miss Derek Jarman’s cottage at Dungeness or St Clement’s for great food.

Reviews

My fiancé and I stayed at the Cloudesley for one night over the weekend and we loved it. The host could not have been more helpful and gave us brilliant recommendations for both dinner and our Sunday trip - on top of this Breakfast was wonderful. We highly recommend staying!

Kirsten, London

Two couples -two nights- exceptional accommodation. Amazing breakfasts especially the Armagnac omelette. Our rooms were cleaned and replenished to hotel standard. Two minor hiccups were difficulty in accessing wifi and the premises are not licensed as stated. Neither stopped us from having a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Sue, Mayfield east sussex

Stayed here for 2 nights and we were very pleased with the accommodation. Lovely Victorian house which has been modernised to a high level. The host was very welcoming and made us feel at home. Breakfast was very good with plenty of wholesome organic, fresh, local produce, we will definitely stay here again, thank you Shahria , best wishes.
