Swan House

Hastings, Sussex
Bed & Breakfast

A fabulous seaside getaway in the heart of town. Creative hosts, elegance, flowers, courtyard garden for delicious breakfasts in the sun...

4 rooms

Rooms sleep 2 - 4

Effortless style drifts through the beamed rooms of this boutiquey B&B in a 1490s bakery, from a roaring inglenook fireplace to an honesty bar in a mock bookcase – all run by relaxed creative hosts Brendan and Lionel. Bedrooms hold surprises: Elizabethan frescoes, an old pulley for bags of flour, doors with trompe-l’œil, seashell mosaics and handmade soaps. Step out into lively Old Hastings, wander down to see fishing boats tucked in for the night or find an antiques bargain. Seagulls herald the new day: pick a morning paper; breakfast like kings on organic croissants and local kippers (dinners also on request). Unique.

This is the most wonderful, gorgeous, outstanding place to stay. Beautiful rooms, fabulous host Brendan (not a thing too much trouble). The most delicious locally sourced breakfasts, amazing rooms, beautiful linens, towels and robes. So much individuality everywhere and we were made to feel so welcome - night caps after dinner on the house. Just stunning - don't hesitate to stay there.

This is a gorgeous B&B- the room we stayed in was really nice but we loved the whole house. Breakfast was delicious particularly the homemade baked beans. All the staff were really friendly. Would highly recommend it. Absolutely spot on.

Swan House is old and beautifully decorated with real attention to detail. Breakfast was great! We enjoyed walking along the seafront, eating out, having a cup of tea by the fire and visiting the antique shops in the old town. We really re-charged our batteries with lots of rest and relaxation. Lovely, welcoming and cosy place to stay.
